Rasmus Kjærbo (Copenhagen)

Emerging from a colorful background in academics, entertainment, and teaching, it took just one trip to New York for Ras Kjærbo to realize that his future would be in teaching electronic music and sound production as well as DJing.

Ras Kjærbo started as a hobbyist on a pair of CDJs in 1998. Eight years and many different musical instruments later, the decks were exchanged for a laptop and a MIDI controller, which was customized before long. The passion for digital DJ-ing and music creation were unleashed, and the setup was expanded with Live 8. Since then, Ras Kjærbo has performed around Europe, Asia, and America along with hosting a successful recurring monthly bass party/creative playground event on New York's Lower East Side.

He has performed with trip hop artist Karen Nielsen at the renowned Dominion NY; scored, produced, and mixed music/sound design for multiple short films and art projects. He is the house DJ and performer for Bustin Boards, NYC, and has a wired heart that beats for bass music; especially good old Jamaican Dub, energetic DnB, gut-busting Dubstep, (and let’s face it, Roxette).

Ras is currently teaching and hosting seminars and workshops in Copenhagen while working towards establishing the first Ableton Certified Training Center in Denmark. Once the foundation is laid, Ras will be heading back to New York - where he is affiliated with Dubspot - to further develop both his teaching finesse and management skills in relation to running a professional facility.
