Hozaifa Sayed started teaching music technology in 2014. Since then, he’s been passionate about learning and sharing his knowledge with students, and sees teaching as a way of deepening his knowledge and understanding of music production. To him, it’s a conversation about all things music and sound, and there’s no topic he’d rather discuss.

Hozaifa Sayed has been intrigued by and involved in the Indian music scene since its inception in the early 2000s. At first, he switched the dancefloor for the decks with an early foray into DJing. Driven by a desire to understand the art entirely, he nurtured his love for music and technology by attending numerous festivals, travelling for gigs, and finding and listening to some of his favorite artists and their definitive sound. He soon took his passion to the next level by pursuing a full-time course in audio engineering and music production to learn more about the creative process of the sounds he loved so much. Since then, he hasn’t looked back.
Hozaifa currently teaches independently through established partnerships, and as a visiting faculty with various music production schools and academies across the country. He also runs his own one-to-one mentorship program both in person and now online. He has been using Ableton Live since version 8 and keeps constantly up to date with the software, features and workflow. With Ableton at the core of his instruction, he teaches related subjects such as the basics and physics of sound, decibels and metering, studio equipment, digital signal processing, mixing and sound design, and sampling and synthesis techniques.
While creating music, he relies heavily on Ableton’s Push 2 controller device to get hands on and conform to scales with ease, giving him a creative edge in writing music in a performative way. Since 2015, he’s been running an independent music mastering service called Waves Krāft Mastering, offering his services to students, artists and labels worldwide.
Hozaifa firmly believes in focusing on the functionality and overall applications of Ableton Live and its related topics, so that producers can think independently about how to put a device or concept to use creatively while making informed decisions. An excellent communicator, he is comfortable with small and large classes alike, and has taught full-time for over six years on the Degree & Diploma programs at Seamedu, India’s first official Ableton Certified Training Centre. He specializes in teaching Ableton in a way that keeps concepts neutral and enables the student to lay down musical ideas for absolutely any genre and style, and take their performance from studio to stage.
He continues to learn, evolve, teach, create and be inspired by like-minded artists each day.
His newly founded one-to-one online mentorship module is conducted over a total of 25 hours of training, with mentorship offered during and after the course based on students’ future project submissions, helping them learn through further assessment and feedback. Engaging online empowers students to build a lasting exchange of ideas and learn without regional boundaries or constraints.
