Ricky's productions have featured in both notable publications (Guitar Player magazine) and on national TV and radio (BBC Radio 1). Ricky composes and performs under his own name and under the alias "signalsundertests."
Ricky completed his PhD at the University of Ulster (UK) in 2012 and recently assumed the role of Assistant Professor of Music and Technology at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey, where he will demonstrate Ableton Live to various groups of students each semester. Ricky is a proponent of musicians using traditional instruments in the performance and composition of ambient and electronic music. Ricky believes Ableton Live provides a suitable environment for musicians to put their compositional abstractions into practice, particularly given the integration of object-orientated programming (Max for Live). Ricky provides Ableton Live lessons on a one-to-one or workshop basis (maximum of twenty participants per workshop). Lessons may be tailored specifically to include composition, production, performance, and programming themes, upon request.
