Gavin has performed using Ableton in venues and at festivals like Electric Picnic, and DJs with Live on his regular radio show. He originally trained and worked as a studio engineer in Manchester, then returned to Dublin to set up his own music production teaching company.  He transitioned to Ableton Live in 2008 and now uses it for all his mixing, mastering, and performance projects. He is a founding member of the Ableton User Groups in Dublin and Belfast, and is active in the support community.

Gavin has extensive teaching experience and, over the last 10 years, has taught music production across the entire spectrum of abilities – from University programmes to hands-on outreach workshops. Through his company, CreateSound.ie, he and his team offer a variety of Ableton Live courses, from beginner and intermediate levels through to practical courses aimed at developing creative and performance skill sets. CreateSound.ie operates a mobile set up and supplies all the latest equipment, including MacBook Pros and controllers, in order to give students easy access to equipment, and so that courses can be delivered in a variety of venues across Ireland and the UK.
