Chris is a musician, producer, sound designer, educator, and certified music technology junkie for life…
- United States, New York City, NY
Playing multiple instruments through his childhood and teenage years led Chris to pursue a formal music education. He discovered underground electronic dance music in the 1990s, just as the opportunity to refocus his studies on music synthesis and sound design presented itself. With a taste for bass music and armed with an education in music production using both hardware and software, Chris spent 10 years in the industry as a product specialist, clinician, and sound programmer. Then, the idea of electronic music education got into his head and changed everything.
Currently, Chris is the owner and founder of Knob Theory, the culmination of decades of experience with music, technology, and education. When he worked as an instructor and Director of Curriculum for Dubspot, Chris designed and developed several courses including the Ableton Live course, for both the physical and the online school.
Having been a Live user since version 1, Chris has witnessed first hand how the way we produce and perform music has been revolutionized by Ableton.
