The Ingesund School of Music is a Scandinavian institution with room for music – literally and figuratively. Ingesund School of Music at Karlstad University is located in Arvika and enjoys a long-standing reputation in the Scandinavian music scene, and with newly built premises and state-of-the-art technology we can raise the bar even further.

Music teachers, musicians and music producers are trained in the beautiful environment of Kyrkviken, close to Arvika in Värmland. Music training has been offered here since 1923, and music production courses have, in various forms, been offered since the early nineties.
The Ingesund School of Music is music. Students can live with music around the clock. This has its merits. Musicians have to practice constantly and be inspired to improve. A touch of mania and passion is not to be sniffed at either. The combination of mania and passion is here, it’s true of the teachers, who are some of the best in their fields, it’s true of the harmonious and inspiring environment, and it’s true of the modern and practical premises, furnishing students with the chance to develop and retain their passion.
The music production studio is a recent state of the art addition, that the students in those classes can access around the clock to work on their assignments or private projects. All six production rooms, recording rooms as well as the computer lab with 20 stations are equipped with Ableton Live suite and other software as well as Push 2 devices, other controllers and a vast assortment of microphones, hardware synthesizers and more.
As well as courses and programs for traditional musicians and music teachers, Ingesund School of Music offers a number of courses in music production, both on campus and on distance, additionally, we also offer a two year music production program. Students can also apply to our on campus instrumental courses with computer/technology as the instrument of choice. All classes at Ingesund School of Music are taught in Swedish.
