How can I copy automation without also copying the MIDI notes?

I have a section of MIDI in arrangement view. I'd like to add some automation to it, and it's a very repetitive automation.

With CC automation, I get it. I go into the clip, and engage the special 'envelope' function. I can copy CC automation around, no problem, without changing the notes.

Is this possible outside the clip, in regular arrangement view, for plugin automation?

I figured out the answer. You hit the '+' sign by the automation, to drop the selected automation below the clip channel. Then when you copy and paste it, then clip is unaffected.

You can also select the part of the audio/midi that has automation you want to copy. Then hover your mouse over the (folded out) automation in arrangement and right-click. There's also an option there to just copy automation without affecting the rest.
