"Hit Me" actually was made by accident. A blog that specializes in cover versions asked me to do a cover at the same moment that I was listening to one of my favorite tracks of all time, Ian Dury's "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick". But what could I do with one of the best tracks ever?
I spent a couple of days in Rome and then the idea "hit me": an Italo-Disco version. So I went into the studio with my friend Eduardo from Rodion, recorded the vocals with Lavinia, and came up with this wabbering energetic disco version. It seemed to get a lot of attention, and our label manager from Gomma Records decided to release it.
Now you all get the whole track with some extra beats and bass on top. Cut it, deconstruct it, waste it but be aware of the words of my Durry: "HIT ME WITH YOUR RYTHM STICK"!
Have fun -
