Moogfest 2014 Ableton Workshops

If you’re in Asheville this year for Moogfest don’t forget to swing round the Ableton workshops held across three days at the Masonic Temple venue, 80 Broadway Street.

Live 9 Tips & Tricks with Mike Huckaby

When: Thursday, April 24th 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Where: Masonic Temple - Downstairs

Mike Huckaby will discuss various techniques when working with Live 9 features such as Audio-to-MIDI, warping, multi-band dynamics, clip envelopes, scene launch tempo change and other useful nuggets of info for upping your production game.

Controlling a DMX Lighting Rig with Live 9 with Dan Deacon, Patrick McMinn & Al Schatz

When: Friday, April 25th 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Where: Masonic Temple - Downstairs

Dan Deacon, joined by his tour Lighting Director Patrick McMinn & Front of House Engineer Al Schatz, will break down how they use Live 9 to control their DMX lighting rig on stage.

Max in the Morning with James Patrick & John Keston

When: Saturday, April 26th 11:00pm - 12:00pm
Where: Masonic Temple - Downstairs

Coffee + food + Max for Live + nerding out = Max in the Morning. James Patrick and John Keston will provide an overview of Max for Live and some devices native to Live 9 Suite, and then put description into context by playing a couple of tunes from their band James Patrick Plays to demonstrate how various M4L devices can be used in a live scenario. Look out for Moogs, modulars, drum machines, iPads, granulation, manipulation, improvisation and more…
