Marley Marl Recreates "Mama Said Knock You Out" in Live

Here's a really special treat from the legendary Marley Marl and our friends at Dubspot. Going back to a hip-hop classic, Marley recreates his beat for LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out". Watch the video and see Marley explain how the samples all came together, how he finessed them to fit into the beat, and get some insight into a novel trick using the test-tone generators in old mixing boards (reproducible in Live, of course). Stick around at the end for an exclusive outtake verse from LL from the original sessions:
