Transistors, Tubes, & Beats: Vintage Drum Sounds from Goldbaby

The classic sound of vintage gear is unassailable - just the right touches of harmonic saturation, unique EQ curves, a little bit of machine noise. The gear itself, however, is often temperamental, not to mention expensive. Working with an eclectic and enviable selection of vintage drum machines, synthesizers, EQs, compressors, and more, Goldbaby present Thermionic Solid State Drums - featuring the sounds of vintage hardware, in an easy-to-use software package.

Preview the sounds of Goldbaby Thermionic Solid State Drums.

With a list of sound sources that range from the classic Korg MS-20 synthesizer to modern prized pieces such as the all-tube Metasonix D-1000, processed with the likes of a Neve 1073 channel strip and Thermionic Culture Fat Bastard II summing mixer, Thermionic Solid State Drums covers a number of drum bases, all with a distinct character. Many of the samples include multiple velocity layers - and, in the case of most of the kicks and congas, tune layers - for authentic analog variation in sound. Using one of 35 preset kits, or making your own from the samples, these sounds are the real deal, with analog elements firmly in place.
