AskAudio have enlisted the help of some premier musicians for a new course series, “Electronic Artists Revealed”. From Deepchild, Miro Pajic, and Marc Smith, each course covers a specific topic - such as live performance, or sound design - and how the instructing artist accomplishes it.
In celebration of the launch of the courses, AskAudio have some free sounds and effects available for download from each of the artists - including analog synth loops from Deep Child, drum kits and effects from Miro Pajic, and a monster set from Marc Smith.

Motor City Groove
You can’t have a conversation about techno without bringing up Detroit, the genre’s origin city and spiritual home. Let’s throwback to the pummeling 909 and futuristic synths on Mad Mike’s classic, “Death Star”:

This year’s MIDI Hack in Stockholm brought together a large group of talented and inspired software and hardware hackers. Following up on a project that started during MIDI Hack, Knut Andreas Ruud has released Midular, a set of modular Max for Live devices for MIDI control and sequencing. Simple yet innovative, these devices - including a quantizer for live input and a modular-rig-style rotating sequencer - can further be combined with each other (and with Live’s native MIDI effects) for some wild new creations.
