Why does my playback cut out

So I'm completely new to recording. Complete newbie so dumb things down for me. When I record on abelton live lite 9 (32 bit) everything is clear through my headphones but when I go to play it back it cuts out very badly and can't hear the recording.

I'm using the m-box interface, MXL 870 mic, HP 2.30 GHz, 8 GB of ram, windows 8.1, Intel core i5

Check your bit rate in your vst and plug-ins ,also check your interfaces latency ratio. Its also quite possible that your vst could be sucking up alot of your RAM usage. Be sure to go to your software tech support to find out your optimal settings, see how that works, ok? Do the same for your interface.

I had a problem with my playback cutting out every now and then and found that i had a demo vst effect on my master channel that was in demo mode. Invisible limiter licence had ran out.
