Why are my Live 7 files missing in Live 8.3?

my computer details: 15-inch, Late 2011; Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i7; Memory  8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3; Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D2001); FireWire 410 with updated driver (audio is working fine); daisy-chained through my glyph external hard drive which contains all of my saved Live sets created in Live 7.

So, I just got a new Mac and installed Live 8.3. I tried installing on my previous Mac but it wasn't taking because my OS was outdated by 5 years. Anyway, before I deleted my previous version of Live 7 on my old computer, I saved all of my sets to my glyph which my new laptop is connected to. I go to work on one of my songs and it says "missing media files". 90% of the content is missing - the arrangements, the samples, the vocals. So, my question is are these gone forever? Or do they reside in some hidden folder on my old computer?

You need to save with "Collect all and save" to ensure that all media files are put into the same Live Set as the save file. Otherwise the savefile will just contain "links" to where you have the samples on your harddrive.

Recordings and such should still be on your old computer, but you might lack anything you added to the Live 7 Library if you deleted that. The samples should be in your Live Sets' folders, in your sample folders or in the Live Library.
