Very, very loud "destructive" noise when arming record enable.

When I try to arm an audio track for recording through either ASIO or through windows 8's audio system, all I get back back is a loud "banging" or white noise. It's even worse with ASIO as I had to rip my headphones off because of how loud it was. Is there a way to fix this? (P.S, the recording works fine with window's recording thing.)

Does anyone have an answer yet? I'm also getting extreme noise when arming a clip. First, it happened with the MME/Direct X driver. I then downloaded ASIO and it does it with that too, maybe even worse. Now it doesn't do it with MME/DirectX but it stopped recording with that driver now.
