Using Dropbox for Collaborating

My partner and I are attempting to collaborate over Dropbox, but having an issue.
We're both using the same version of Live.

Basically, I'll do a file "SAVE AS" and save the song to my desktop as a new project. Then, I do "COLLECT ALL AND SAVE." This works great.

But when I drop it onto Dropbox, there will be media files missing. In the missing files pane, the directory will be pointing to my desktop, not Dropbox for the samples. The samples are there in Dropbox, but Ableton isn't seeing them. When I tell it to search through the Dropbox folder for the files, it doesn't find them, then proceeds to begin checking my computer files.

Any help with this? Any preferred guides for collaborating over Dropbox?

Thank you,
Son Denizen

I use Dropbox to sync all my Live projects between my iMac and MacBook. Works perfectly. The only thing I do different than you, is the fact that I save my Ableton Live sessions directly to the a dropbox folder.  I do not save them to my desktop and drag them afterwards to my dropbox folder.  Don't know if that matters, or if I'm being of any help.

    good luck!

I'm doing the same sharing of files with my co writer. After you do a collect all and save,  go to manage files in the files menu and scroll down, select create live pack. when done put it in drop box. make sure your partner pulls the live pack out of dropbox....then double click. it should open with all samples and place them in the desired location of your choice.
