There is no audio in track...but its still playing. Ghost Audio? Why!

Its driving me nuts, some old audio track keeps playing and the vocal take is horrible, no matter how many audio tracks I delete or how many times I re-record, there is a ghost audio playing in the background.

Why? How? Help!

I just had this problem and found that it was related to melodyne.

Make sure to turn that guy off after you are done using it :)

I will need some more info, but you can start by checking this:

    - turn al tracks OFF in the mixer. Still hearing sound?

    - maybe there was a piece of audio playing along via the pre-listen function? Turn that off too.

    - make sure you are only playing the arrangement or the session clips: make sure the "back-to-arrangement" button is OFF.

    - check if there is any audio being re-routed: turn off all track inputs, ext. in inputs, etc.

Is there still a ghost sound?
