Shortcut for opening/closing virtual instruments

Hey guys,

I think about switching to Live completely, but what I miss until now is a shortcut or a mapping function for opening the main instrument on a selected channel.

I worked with Cubase before and those shortcuts were pretty useful to me.

But in Live I can't map the "wrench"-button. Is there any way do change this or a workaround?

I hope someone can help me here.

I find it totally unbelievable annoying that for *years* now, there is NO way to open a plugin editor window the first time without using the mouse. Insane.

would be great to have this feature available in the Live API. Then it would be available in Clyphx.

There is a shortcut, and you can make your own shortcuts, just look in the menu. I'm on a mac so it's cmd alt P, but I use F2. You do have to open it with the wrench the first time. Another way to avoid opening the plugin window is to configure the parameters you are interested in, and you can map 8 of them to macros. So you could easily control 16 parameters via 8 hardware knobs. 8 on the macros, and the first 8 that are configured, swapping focus between the configured 8 and the mapped 8 using the arrow keys. This is all spelled out in detail on my website. Let me know if you need any help with this or don't understand any bits of what I just said.
