Sample rate issues causing audio files to clip

I'm editing voice files for a client and they sent me 32bit, 48000Hz sound files. When I try to import them, they automatically clip EVERYWHERE and are useless.

I figure it's a sample rate issue so I changed the sample in-out rate to 48000Hz but that didn't work. I'm using a Line 6 Studio UX2 interface and Ableton Live version 9.6.2.

The only solution I've found it converting them in Audacity to 41000Hz files but this is not adequate because it reduces quality and take a long time.

Anyone have a similar problem? Are there any solutions?

Have you tried turning down the volume in the clip envelope after loading it?

I'm having the same issue when simply importing some .wav files from my desktop.
