Sample Rate

I have a set with hit samples recorded at different sample rates, some 44.1K some 48k and some 96k.

I read in the forums that Ableton is not great at sample rate conversion and its best to use samples recorded at the same rate which is used in the set.

Does anyone know of a free editor or conversion program for the mac I can download for best results?

I cannot find r8brain for mac.

Many consider this to be the definitive comparison of sample rate converters

Though not free, I think these 2 feature Izotope SRC and have trial versions

Unfortunately it seems that r8brain isn't available for OS X, at least not yet. In the meantime, based on the sample rate converter ratings page mentioned by jaynyc, I would suggest trying SoX, which is both free and has decent-looking performance.

I recently ran across this old post. If you have a look at the link, jaynyc posted, Ableton seems to be quite good in sample rate conversions compared to others.
