Recording Roland V-Drums in Ableton

Hey Guys
I am about to start recording an EP for my band using Ableton Live 9.
Our drummer uses Roland V-Drums live and we also want to use them for recording by utilising midi recording.
Just wanted to know the best way to record Midi Drums in Ableton and also how record to things such as Hi Hat info such as when the hi-hat is open or closed?
Any help would be appreciated

hi hats are usually just a control change, I have never used the vdrums, but i am fairly certain that it is just the same thing. Ableton should just be able to record all of the midi data. (midi data is really tiny, so you should not even get much latency (unless you're going through a brain and you might be able to play with the drums triggering samples, whilst recording.

Have fun with that. post back with what you learn/find out!
