Question re Sampler Key Zone Editor

Hi . . . . wondering if anyone can tell me what the letter "R" means in the key zone editor when samples are imported into Sampler. If nothing is changed in the key zone editor, the "R" remains at the left hand side of the key zone editor. But if I move parameters around, the "R"can also move. Perhaps it's got something to do with  the "resampling" when a given sample's zone is extended beyond it's original pitch ...?

You are right. "R" refers to "root key", that is the original pitch of the sample. The sampler needs this to know how it has to pitch the sample to bring it into tune with other insturments (so the key "a", plays really the note a for example).
