Play from last location - no auto rewind

Hi.

Can we have the option to have play continue from the last stop position?

Much like stop on a tape machine or a pause button. Not have to use "shift and play" or "shift and spacebar". The auto rewind to beginning default is no fun on many sessions.

Thanks!

This should be a configurable option.

Returning to zero by default is not a fun way to work

There is not that option. If you are proposing a new option, then I recommend you to take a look into the comunity forum, where you will find a Thread with incoming options in a whishlist.

If you are working on a project inside the arrangement view, at a specific part of the Track, Set or Mix where is quite far from the Start, you can use the Loop and Play Markers, then you can Play again starting from that specific part of your mix.

Take a look into the Manual, but i think anyway you already know this, you were asking for a new option in the incoming updates.

I really love Live but the lack of this function is why I always go back to Logic after a short while. This is VERY annoying. I mean, Live is a very advanced DAW. What is the problem adding a play/continue function as in all other daw's?

SHIFT + SPACE BAR   is the answer.

Hit Space Bar to stop. Hit Shift + Space Bar  to play from the point you stopped at. Hitting Space Bar only without the Shift key will return to the insertion point for playback. Also you can enable Permanent Scrub Areas  in the Look/Feel Preferences.

This is from section "6.2 Transport" in the online manual. https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/arrangement-view/
