Multiple clip launch volume issue

When I am playing one or two clips together the volume is fine but when I add my whole scene (about 6 or 7 clips together) the volume seems to go down on everything across the board. I want to keep my main starting clip just as loud when the others are added but the peak of the volume never seems to reach where I have my sliding point set on any track after I add more than a few tracks together. Is there something I maybe clicked or overlooked? thank you in advance for any help!

Assuming that when you say 'seems to go down' that it actually isn't going down in real terms (ie the peak value on the VU for that track remains the same). What you're experiencing is the masking of sounds due to the competition for frequencies between parts and the increased overall loudness of the sound due to layering of multiple parts.

If this is the case then you need to learn about mixing (volume, eq and pan)

It could be that you have a compressor on the master track. As you increase the input volume by launching more clips you increase the amount of compression.

If this is the case then you need to learn about compression.

If this is not the case then strange things are going on and I suggest you submit a bug report to Ableton.
