MIDI IAC Notes not Working

Hi there,

I'm using Live Lite 8 and wanted to use Puredata as a way to control an Instrument in Live.

I'm fairly okay with both softwares, so I turn here because maybe there is a detail or two that I'm overlooking...

So I have everything set up and routed through OSX IAC Driver. Which means that Puredata outputs MIDI Messages (Note On and Off with Duration and Velocity) and Live receives it. So far, so good.

Thing is, I see the incoming MIDI signal on top right corner in Live blinking corresponding to each note triggered by Puredata, but whatever instrument I have set up just won't play. Tried channels, creating other virtual ports, routing, nothing works. Live reads the message but just can't turn it into MIDI notes.

To be clear: if I try the very same Puredata configuration in, say, Garage Band, I can play MIDI Instruments there. It is just in Live that it doesn't work.

Does anyone know what it might be? Is it perhaps a silly misstep I took or a bug?

Have you turned on the 'track' buttons for the 'IAC input' and 'IAC output' midi ports (in Preferences -> Midi/Sync ?
