midi/audio latency madness ??

Ok where to start....
I recently added a roland Aira TB-3, which is a remake of the tb 303.
It has midi sync capabilities via USB. It also has an audio interface built in, though it only sends audio, does not receive.

When I try to get it to run in sync with ableton, I end up with maybe around 200ms of delay just in transport controls.
I hit play in ableton, and the aira starts in late.

I get the same latency on screen. When I click on a clip to play, ableton reacts @200ms. ( ill call it roughly 1/4 second ).
I dont mean the clip launches late, I mean , the whole program seems to be running behind.

I play drums and piano, so even the tiniest bit of latency throws everything off. I really want to use Live ,...well..live

I want to use my digital drumset to trigger drum racks, and I also would like to run the audio out of my drums into live, and
through various effects, then back out.

I realize audio and midi latency are different beasts, but I need to start from the beginning, and get my machine to run better.
I'm sure this is more a computer question and issue much more so than a live issue.

HELP!
Any takers?? let me know and I'll get all the info and details i can to help get this sorted out.

    I'm having exactly the same issues and have gotten exactly 0 support.  I'm to the point that I'm going to have to abandon Live.  I also have Logic X and it will work without a hitch.  Ableton simply can not integrate MIDI without horrific latency issues and the support from Ableton is nonexistent.  Other DAWs have this figured out, but for some unknown reason Ableton either can't or won't fix it.

    Hi dcm_guitar, 

    I just performed a quick search in our support tool, but I could only find 2 cases where you inquired technical support. 

    One closed case from 2012, where we could help you out and you stated that things have improved in the end, and one open case, which you have created just today. 

    So unless you haven't opened any other cases from a different email address, we would kindly ask you to refrain from statements like "0 support" throughout different answers threads.
