Looper on Multiple Audio Tracks: Problems when Switching

I'm trying to put together a piece with six audio tracks, all of which use Looper. I want to be able to play guitar into each track (each of which features different effects), record loops, and then switch to another track. I have my trusty Behringer FCB1010 foot controller set up to control things. Here's my problem: after I record a loop on one track and get ready to record into a different track while Looper is still playing on track #1, I want to be able to 'disarm' the first track so it doesn't keep recording. However, I want Looper to keep playing while I record on track #2. Yet, as soon as I hit my preset foot switch to disarm track #1, Looper also stops for some reason. I don't know why it does this and don't see any reason why it should. Does anyone know a way around this?

OK, after reading the section on Looper in the manual, I'm thinking that a better solution might be to keep all tracks armed all the time but set "Input->Output" to "Rec/OVR" on each Looper. I'll see if this works.
