Live 9 sets take very much time to load

How can I speed up the loading time of a set? Live 9 takes almost a minute to load a set, Live 8 was a bit quicker.

Does it help to de-install max 4 live?

Mine takes 10 minutes for the program to load.  Then takes about 15 minutes to load a live set.  By that time I just switch it off cos I am too pissed off.  Not what I bought a brand new Macbook and Ableton for.  Sent my reports to Ableton but no results.

This is already with a ssd drive.

1 minute feels very long when you're doing a live gig and wait for the next set to load.

I think load times were much smaller with Live 8.

Like out grandpas always say: live was better in the past... ;-)

I'm wondering if it depends of the size of your library (core + packs + user)???

I have a macbook pro 2.3 I7 and it takes an age to load up sometimes 5 minutes

even longer with max for live.

however once it has loaded switching between tracks isn't so bad.

I have a mac pro on snow leopard and it loads pretty quick.

    any thoughts?

It's VERY slow (32-Bit, Ver 9.1.1) to simply start the program on my i5 iMac with 16gb of ram. Nothing else open. 8 was 10x faster.

@Shadow Son, was this resolved? If so, could you post the solution? This started happening to me and I reset Live, then I was able to load a set I hadn't been able to load before. Instructions are here:

    Thanks!

I thought for myself, it was because my OSX is divided between a 500gb SSD and a 1TB 7200 hybrid HD, but I moved everything Ableton (library, packs, cache, preference etc) to my SSD, and it's still slow. It takes even a whole minute sometimes to save a preset. And I don't even use anymore, ableton browser search, because the experience get even worst! As soon as you type the first letter of something, it freezes for 30 sec before you can type the second letter.
I use the iced audio app instead, and drag and drops audio files.
Same if I want to delete a preset, I rather go into the folder through finder, or it will take a good 2 minutes within ableton.

I think it's because 9 got features for push, that, it turns 9 so slow, Live 8 was the beast in term of response time and execution, maybe they should do a lighter 9 version for non push users.
Even for my part, I got the push, and I found the slow responsiveness of 9 a flow killer, I rather prefer do sketchs on flawless iOS app instead , like Korg gadget, medly, groove box, and then export the midi and audio.
I really love Ableton, but it lost something along the way. I think 8 was the peak of the perfection, even tho 9 got so many good new features, workflow always prime for me, and push has not been a big help because of the outdated library structure of 9. And im still using my mouse most of the time, and connect the APC when in need of mixing and knobing. I like my Push, but it's not of a big use.

This depends on your hard drive RPM speed. 1 minute is honestly not that long at all! If you want a really really quick load i would suggest getting a solid state drive (if you can afford it that is ;D)
