Launching Operator?

Hello All,

So I got Ableton Live 9 Full Suite a couple of months back but I just recently started fiddling around with it.

Keep in mind that I have no exposure to production or DAW's, so Abelton is a complete mystery to me.

I recently bought a tutorial on 'Drums' and the instructor mentions at the beginning that having a drum synth is absolutely vital for the course. However, he's using Logic so I naturally pause the video to look up if Abelton has any in-program Drum synth as I currently do not want to spend more money on plugin's. Apparently, Operator is one of those drum synthesizers. The problem is I don't know how to launch it or pretty much anything else that doesn't involve a midi instrument. I tried looking up how to launch Operator in the manual but I got nowhere and neither Google or Youtube is helping me out. Can someone tell me how to launch Operator or point me in the right direction so I can follow along with the tutorial.

Thank you in advance and I look forward to all the helpful responses.

Operator is a MIDI instrument.  on the left bar, go to "instruments," open it, click on "operator."  If you don't see it, that's because you didn't install it, in which case go back to and download it.

operator isn't really a drum synth, although it can be used to make drum sounds.  Try impulse first.
