Launch scenes with (MIDI) pedal?

Instead of using the Return button, when performing, I want to use an external (MIDI?) pedal to launch scenes in Session View. I need the pedal to work exactly like the return button, where each click triggers the next scene.

Modifying a computer keyboard to be used as a foot controller doesn't work for me - I need to use a sturdy hardware pedal.

If this is possible, which type (or model) of pedal do I need, and how exactly do I set it up?

did you ever find the answer to this.  I've looked all over the internet,  seems like a simple midi assign, I'm able to use a sustain pedal for stop, just not starting scenes.

I'm using ableton just for drum loops, kicking bass with my left hand.  I use a different scene for each song, using launch tempo, but I need my hands free for starting.  I don't see having to buy a separate foot controller for one simple function.  Hope someone can answer this

Dependant on the pedal, it's software might let you just have it output "Enter" onto your computer/focused window.

You could also try fiddling with a MIDI translator.

Keep it simple and use a normal keyboard pedal and assign via midi
