Latency/Delay issues, not sure if my laptop has enough power to record properly

Hi,

I'm a fairly new Ableton user, so far I've used it to make simple instrumentals for songs. I'd like to record vocals and hear myself in the headphones as live feedback along with the instrumental while recording. However, when I try to record vocals there is a very annoying "echo" sounding delay and it's very hard to sing with even a slight delay.

I've read this article https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209072289-Latency-and-Delay-Compensation-overview and tried to adjust the setting in ableton but I'm still getting a noticeable delay.

My laptop is a Acer Aspire E15 and it't about a year old

AMD Quad-Core Processor A10-8700P with Turbo CORE Technology up to 3.20 GHz

AMD Radeon R8 M365DX with 2GB dedicated VRAM

8 GB DDR3 L Memory

256 GB SSD

I'm not a very technical person, so I am not sure if the problem is that my laptop is not powerful enough to run Ableton without getting a delay.

My goal is just to record simple vocals on top of my instrumental track and hear myself in my headphones while I'm doing it. Is there something I can do/buy to help my laptop run ableton better and not get the vocal delay?

Thanks so much if you take the time to respond!
