Issues with video playback/sync

I have both the 32/64 bit versions of Ableton 9.2.1 installed, and version 7.7.7 of Quicktime installed.

I am able to import video in the 32-bit version, but it runs terribly slow and choppy. I suspect it might be the RAM limitation, so I tried running in the 64 bit version.

In 64-bit, I get no video playback at all- either no window pops up, or I get a playback window with a black screen.

I have tried the .mov and .mp4 file extensions, neither work.

Any ideas on why this is happening in 64 bit? Or on how to improve playback in 32 bit?

Edit: Running Windows 7 64-bit, NVidia GTX 660, i7930 2.8GHz, 16GB RAM

I am also having this issue, I have only tried the 64bit version(as it is what I use), however there is no video appearing. did you ever find a solution to this?

Hello,  did someone have already fixed this problem?  I have the same problem.

I did everything that is suggested here in this Ableton article, should I uninstall quicktime? I am running a 64 bits Windows 10 OS

    Hi everybody,

Quicktime codecs are working in 32 bit only, so in order to use video in the 64 bit version of Live, you would need to install additional codecs.

Please see this article for further details:
