Is pick-up controller mode possible with control surface?

I have a small MIDI controller with faders and knobs acting as a mixer console. However, when controlling track volume with the physical faders, it instantly takes over the value,  even with the takeover mode set to pick-up.

How can I get the pick-up takover mode with my controller?

Cheers

I have the same problem with my KORG (TRITON) Taktile 49.

And I found the way to avoid this problem (at least, for taktile).

Taktile requires setting below to use with Ableton Live:

      - use "Mackie Control" mode at Live side
      - use "Live" scene at Taktile side

This configuration causes behavior below, regardless of take over
    mode configuration:

      - knobs work in "value scale" style
      - faders works in "no take over" style

On the other hand, with "User Remote Script"
by "UserConfiguration.txt", both knobs and faders
    follow "takeover" configuration correctly !

(but in this case, we can use buttons for each track only
    for "REC", unfortunately :-<)

So, one of (both of, or combination of) implementations below
    seems to have problem:

      - "Mackie Control" compatibility mode in Taktile firmware
      - "take over mode" for "Mackie Control" in Live
