Is it Possible to Exclude Some Effects from Freeze/Flatten?

After creating many elements of a 16 bar loop I'm ready to start converting everything to audio and begin the arrangement process, but my CPU is capping out so I'd like to freeze and flatten all my tracks. The issue is that effects with tails (delay, reverb...) don't really translate properly, as they abruptly cut off every time the segment ends. Is there a way to somehow exclude certain plugins from being rendered to audio?

An example:

You have a track with the following chain: Harmour->Saturation Knob->Delay. I'd like the end result to be an audio track of Harmour with Saturation Knob, and then have Delay attached as an effect to the new audio track. Is there any way to do this? I know that I can save the preset, delete the Delay, render the track, load up a new Delay and apply the preset, but if you're doing this for 20 tracks with multiple tail plugins that's a massive workflow killer.

I'm afraid the way you already described is the only one.
