Hi all,

Just a few quick questions.

I have an iMac running osx mountain lion. I want to know if its best to install the ableton library and sessions on an external harddrive?

Basically I want the best performance possible.

If so am I better off getting a FireWire hdd or a USB one?

Thanks in advance!

Personally I think it should not make too much of a diffence.
But to make sure everything works as fast as possible, I think you should put everything on your internal drive.
But since that will take up more and more space as you go, an external harddrive might be a good option.

I've been using a macbook pro for years, and have all my libraries on an external (usb) harddrive. No problems whatsoever untill now. Only for livesets I put a project including samples on the internal drive: but that is only to be safe :-)
Firewire (800) should be a bitfaster than usb.
