Impulse sound decay ( Ableton Live Lite)

When I'm triggering longer sounds ( 1 bar, 2 bar ) with my Akai MPD26 in Impulse, they start to decay gradually, losing sound volume. I trigger them in ''Trigger'' mode, with decay all the way up ( 10 seconds). Any idea what could be causing this problem?

Hi! Yes, you should trigger them in 'Gate' mode. Depending on whether you want the sound to stop instantly after you release the button you can adjust the decay time from a few milliseconds up to 10 seconds. I guess you still have a problem if you want to trigger sounds that are longer than 10 seconds though, in which case you could try Drum Rack (with release up to 60 seconds) or Simpler/Sampler.

I have Ableton Live Lite (Akai Edition) so I can't modify Drum Racks, just use some presets.

Basically, I'm trying to make a hip hop beat in Ableton, on classic MPC way. So I want to trigger half-bar, 1 bar or maybe a 2 bar samples, without holding down the pad, and also I'll need note cut-off, so if I'll trigger another pad, the pad that is currently playing will be cutted. Something like FL Studio's FPC, if you are familiar.
