Imported Mp3 stutters - distorted sound

Hello everybody,

I am really at a loss here. I want to import a Mp3 file in Ableton using the arrangement screen. I succeeded at this, however when I play back the imported mp3 it stutters and sounds distorted. It makes the mp3 useless to use  in a recording session. It sounds a little like when you slow down the song too much and you start hearing gaps in the sound.

I'm sorry if my description of the problem is not really clear or complete. I'm just a stupid guitarist trying to find his way in the digital world ;-)

Thanks so much for your input!

Hey, try looking down in the bottom left corner, and within sample settings, there is probably a box titled "Warp" that is highlighted. Click that to unselect the Ableton auto-warping of the song to your set BPM. Let me know if that doesn't work because it fixed it for me.

Is the BPM of the master tempo considerably different to the BPM of the mp3 you're importing ?
