I want an always armed vocal track and the ability to arm differnt midi tracks.

I'm going to be playing with someone who will be providing vocals so their track will stay constantly armed. I'll be noodling with various things so the track I will be sending MIDI data on will change. I realize I can hold <ctrl> to multi-arm tracks but I would prefer not to have to always be thinking about that. Is there a way to tell Ableton to always keep a specific track armed even when I'm arming other tracks?

Is your intent to record or just monitor processed audio?

If the answer is monitor, click the "In" button on the monitor section of the channel.

If it's recording: Preferences: Record: Exclusive- make sure "ARM" is NOT highlighted

Can you tell me what the technical information is for controlling Hardware synths and drum machines through midi and a launch pad?

I want to control the TR-8 and KORG, playing the midi maps in ableton and triggering them from the launchpad.
