I believe you can manually update Push firmware by hitting the dump button in midi tab of Live's preferences, not sure if it tells you the version number though!!

Dump is used to transfer presets. This has nothing to do with firmware. This is used to make sure Instant Mappings work correctly. Say fader #1 on your MIDI controller is sending CC11 and Ableton's Instant Mappings needs it to be CC12 for everything to work correctly... as long as your controller supports receiving a preset dump this will fix that issue.

Push won't need this feature since it's been created specifically to work with Live... and at this time there isn't a way to change what MIDI Note/CC each button or parameter sends.

Firmware is handled directly from Live. If you didn't have the most recent version it would tell you at startup. A lot of fixes are also based on the version of Live. Firmware isn't updated as regularly as the software is updated.
