How to reset mixer or device modulation

In Live 8, if I play a clip that modulates a parameter, e.g. mixer volume, the last modulation value will remain on the mixer (in the case of volume, as a white dot to the side). So if, for example, the volume modulation is at 50% when I stop the clip, I cannot then raise the volume above 50%, as it's remembered the last modulated value.

I can get around this by creating a dummy clip with all the envelopes set at their default (maximum) but this is a bit of a pain and I was wondering if there was a way to revert the modulation on a parameter?

i don't know it that's the answer you are looking for, but:
A common mistake is to automate mixer's volume envelope and not the clip's volume envelope, by doing so you'll always get messy with the overall volume - try automating the clip volume instead - you'll be able to see the volume change in the clip info (on the bottom left) with a small orange dot indicating the automation.
by changing only the clip's envelope and not the mixer envelope once you'll change clip the volume will be as it was before.
    Good Luck. hope it helps..
