How to adjust track delay with a MIDI mapping?

I'm playing with a live band and using Ableton Live to trigger MIDI and audio clips. Latency has been a big problem for us and we have had many headaches trying to get the percussion clips to line up exactly with what the drummer is playing. Recently, it occurred to me that I could use the track delay feature to adjust the percussion clips without making any adjustments to Live's global tempo. However, it seems that the solution will not work as track delay is one of many parameters which one cannot assign a MIDI device to control.

This is a list of all controls in Live that I could find which cannot be mapped. Some of them make more sense than others, but I'm wondering why I shouldn't be able to map all of these if I want. It seems that I run into this limitation quite often in my workflow, and I would really like to know if there is some way that I can enable MIDI mapping of these controls.

If you want to map these, i would suggest looking into live's object model LOM. you should be able to control virtually anything with a little bit of max programming, and there are a bunch of resources out on the internet with a little help from google.
