How do I zone my keyboard on Ableton Live 9 Lite?

Ok, so I purchased an Alesis VI61 and I love it. The issue that I'm having is that I have searched the web for days and still am unable to find anyone who has really done anything but review it. I am trying to zone my keyboard. (i.e. Make it so I can have a drum set in my 16 pad grid and a synth or two on the keyboard itself). Does anyone know how to zone this particular keyboard? When I try I end up going in circles and getting nowhere. I've tried editing the key map, but when I attempt to put two instruments on the same track it just changes the instrument and doesn't actually add a second one. Someone please help.

Try using an instrument rack: load different instruments on separate chains and use the zone function to set up what instrument reactie to what signal. Might have to read the manual on that, it is too much to explain here.
