How do I get a smoother sound when warping in a DJ mix?

I make DJ mixes in Live sometimes, and I often notice then when the BPM differs from that of the original track, I always get that skipping kind of 'warp-y' sound. Like the beat and long tones sound jerky and not smooth. I hope you know what I mean.

I try to adjust the warp setting from Beat to Complex or Complex Pro, but that often loses the punch of the tracks.

Can anyone please tell me how to adjust transients and/or the warp settings so I can get rid of that?

Thank you very much!

You can't get rid of it entirely. All warping spoils the original sound in some form or another. And the bigger the change from the original tempo and/or pitch, the bigger the warp-y sound.

Where the track is mostly beats, use Beat mode, change the warp to Complex on breakdowns. Make sure the transients are not 'over processing'/treating the audio. Try repitch for some tracks.

    Don't give up.
