    Is it possible now?
I would like to program buttons so i can activate one fx chain and supress the other by holding one button.
I thought this would be easy.
Midi map all chains to button and reverse on.
    Do the same with others.
No button pressed would be main chain playing.

There is currently no way of making this happen inside Live. You might be able to do it if your MIDI controller allows you to define the control message as a 'Gate' message but you will have to look at the manual for your controller. It may also be possible using a 3rd party MIDI translator or I expect you could make an interface in MAX for Live.
