Force midi mono/voices limiter on ableton live? its possible?

Sorry about my english

I'm trying to play two synths in the same keyboard.

But a want the first one to just play the bass note, but he is polyphonic.

So, i want to force the midi chanel to be mono, i saw in logic a native option to do that, and also a free vst in windows/linux but i dont know if is possible to do that on ableton running osx.

Any ideias?

    I don't think I've seen a synth that couldn't do just 1 voice before.

This is not possible in Live natively afaik.

You could limit the bass to recieve only a certain range of notes with a MIDI or Instrument rack (Show Chain List -> right click, Create Chain -> click the "Key" button).

I would like this as well.  The comment about Utility is not relevant to the number of synth voices.  I'm using several synths that do not appear to have a built-in setting to limit/expand the number of voices.

Try the 'utility' plugin that comes with Ableton. It has a preset for mono signals.
