Exporting single tracks in Live to bring into Logic

I use live, but am adding some tracks to a song of a friend who uses Logic. Some of the tracks that I have added do not start at the beginning of the song, so I need to export these tracks so that whenI send them to him, they will line up with his other tracks. I am guessing that somehow I need to fill in the empty space in front of the track. I thought that using consolidation does this, but I have not been able to get it to work. When I try to export a wave, and then test it by reimporting it back to Live, it is not lining up. Not sure if this has to do with warping or what. This is driving me crazy! Please help! Thanks, Jen

    hi jen,

i guess the easiest way is to set the rendering process to 'all tracks' in that case all tracks of your ableton live patch will be exported separately. (note: also the return tracks and master tracks are exported so check your files after rendering and delete unnecessary files)

as for loading your files in to ableton, the warp function sometimes messes with the tempo of your song when loading. it has to do with the processing algorhytm determing tempo and rhytm. try loading the waveforms and turn warp off, that case you'll load the waveform unprocessed. if it is still running out of sync something went wrong earlier in the process.

    hope this helps you.

When you put audio into Live (even if it was exported from Live), the Start Marker on the audio file is often not at "0".
So when you do something like export individual tracks, and then put those audio files back into Live, all the files will be different lengths and have different start points.
The workaround for this is to go into preferences and turn off "auto warp long files"
