Drum Racks/Making kicks mono.

Does putting drum samples into a "drum rack" ie when they get put into simpler, make them mono? I hear making your kick mono is important, is that true?

Putting samples into a drum rack won't automatically make them mono. You can use the Utility device to do that.

Making them mono is not the only way to go. But usually it does help, because the human ear cannot pinpoint where low frequencies are coming from (left, right, mid). Therefor it is useful to keep low frequencies mainly in the 'centre' of your stereofield. Using mid-side eq can also help.
