Drag a MIDI file to a clip - stupid filename :)

Hi there!

When I drop a MIDI file (drum groove) to a clip all clips get the name "Track 1" which is not optimal ;)

Is there any way to get the filename as clip name without renaming each every time?

If not, where can I drop a feature request (would really help and is not much work)...

Thanks in advance,

Not sure what you are talking about since I am unable to replicate the problem. Which version of Ableton are you running?

Since you were not able to reproduce it I did tried some other MIDI files and couldn't reproduce it. So I tried to look at the format of the files that had this stupid behavior. Found nothing... but when I tried to drag them into the clips... they are just working today like I would expect *ROTFL*

I am curious to find out if this bug reappears again (and under what preconditions). But for now I'm happy :)

I have the same issue. Certain midi files automatically assign a meaningful clip name when dragged into Live and others don't. I am imagining that it has something to do with the type of midi file, meta data or something else. I know this does not help but at least you know you are not crazy.

Will let you know if I figure it out.
