Does Live 9's ability to record automation in session view allow clip/scene launch to be driven by a MIDI clip?

Or does that still work like Live 8, via MIDI loopback, e.g. MidiYoke?  A related question is whether or not this could be done with remote scripting and the LiveAPI?

Forgive if the questions are bad, please, I am new to Live and trying to learn as I  work. I really would like to drive session view like a VST instrument, if possible, but it didnt seem possible other than rewire prior to Live 9 and still may not be.

Thanks...

Yes, but your question is a bit off because it does still work, but it works exactly the same way. Session control and clip launching can be done with python scripts and Live API, however, I do not know much about this.

In my opinion, the Launchpad does this in a superior way, and one thing you can might be able to do is take the decompiled code from the launchpad folder and rewrite it for your particular midi controller. Just a thought. Never tried it. Hope this helps.

Your questions are not bad, they are just very broad and I have no idea where to start when trying to answer them.
