Different method of recording songs in Ableton

Hey everybody!

I've been having some trouble recently with recording. I use Ableton Live Lite (Focusrite Novation Edition, if it matters). Recently I've been working on a song that features changes in tempo as well as occasional use of a low-pass filter (made using EQ3.) When recording within Ableton Live, the tempo and parameter changes are not recorded so that when played back, it comes out at all the same tempo without any of the parameter changes (the application of the LPF, etc.)

Is there any way to change this or should I invest in a soundcard that allows me to record the system sounds?

Your problem might be the back to arrangment view button which is highlighted blue when not playing or recording what you did in arrangment view. Click that button then try recording.
